INSTRUCTIONS
PROJECTS
Task 1:
Week 1:
We were tasked with making a character with Vormator shapes we traced in
Adobe Illustrator.

Week 2:
I started making a character, I went in with nothing on my mind, only the
fact that the character was to be pink.

Fig 3, Final pink fox character (5.10.2024)
After I completed the base of the fox, I was somewhat unsatisfied.
Therefore I made another character.
Fig 4, Pink character [Twinkle] (5.10.2024)
When I finished this character I named "Twinkle", I was satisfied with
the base shape.
Week 3:
However, after seeing the silhouette of the character, it looked too
symmetrical and somewhat boring. So I started experimenting.
Fig 5, Experimenting Twinkle
It still looked wrong so instead I thought of magical characters from TV
and another character named Hatsune Miku, especially Sakura Miku, her pink
counterpart.

Using them as inspiration I had Twinkle, have 2 ponytails as well.
Fig 8, Adding Twinkle's Hair
I also made the bow bigger so it was still visible despite the large
hair. I then thought that a magical wand would suit Twinkle a lot, so I
went to Pinterest to get inspiration.

After looking at the inspiration I started working on the wand by playing around with the shapes.

After much trial and error, I finished making the Magical Wand for
Twinkle.
Fig 12, Finish Wand base
When I placed the wand with the character and looked at the silhouette,
it still felt a little basic, so I decided to make Twinkle have a more
dynamic pose.

After that, I was finally satisfied with my character, so I changed some
of the colours to fit the submission requirements.

I then started shading Twinkle using Pathfinder and Gradient in Adobe
Illustrator and submitted the final outcome.

Character Description: (please do not cringe)
Twinkle, similar to a "Magical Girl" protects Earth from out worldly
beings that poses a threat to Earth. Twinkle keeps his identity a secret,
which is why his hair obstructs the view of his eyes. As most fights take
place in outer space, his skin turns blue to shield his skin from the UV
rays from the sun. In Twinkle's fight, he uses his wand with his heart
embedded into the core of the wand to fight his enemies to prevent the
destruction of Earth.
Reflection:
It was a lot of fun coming up with the character design and description.
It made me think outside the box as I could only use a limited amount of
shapes for the character. This task taught me how to use a lot of
the tools in Illustrator but mostly the Pen Tool and Pathfinder, it helped
me increase my understanding of Adobe for future projects.
