4. REFLECTION

Overall, this module was very informative. I learned a lot. The first project was quite easy as my tutor walked us through the project and how Premiere Pro and Audition worked. However, the same cannot be said for the second project. While the first half was quite easy as it was just colour correcting, the second half, which was the group project, was honestly a nightmare. My group members either speak only Mandarin or English, with way more Mandarin speakers than English, leaving me and my friend to translate. And when we texted in the group, none of them answered or even read the message until quite late. Thankfully, the information got across before the day of filming. On the day of filming, there were so many hiccups and wasted time as the actor did not memorise or even read the script until 5 minutes before we were supposed to shoot. The language barrier did not help the situation at all, as we felt like the requests, ideas or recommendations from the English speakers fell on deaf ears half of the time. However, we did pull through and managed to get footage that was good enough.

The final project was the most fun and time-consuming, as I chose to make a stop-motion animation because I refuse to film myself. I made a story of something I liked, which was romance. Although the filming was very stressful, I am very happy with the final product. I think this module is very useful and I hope to use the knowledge I gained in the future.
